You will find lovely half timbered houses, cute souvenir shops, cosy terraces and good restaurants. The cityscape is 300 years old and hasn't changed a bit, it has a historic past and a lively present. Monschau is ideal for a short or longer holiday. Sights to be seen include the Red House, the glassworks, the mustard mill and the Au monastery with its changing exhibitions. A tour on the little tourist train will take you to the most beautiful town views and to the 13th century fortress which gives you a wonderful view of the town and surrounding area. You are in the immediate vicinity of Aachen, the High Fens, reservoir and Katherberg with its Eifel cathedral, are all within a short distance away and more than worth a visit.

There are plenty of options for walking, cycling, mountain biking, and certainly for art and culture this is certainly worth visiting. Monschau is a true holiday paradise with many options and many sights.
