Balatongyörök is a town situated in the east of the Keszthely Mountains, between woods and water. The town is located on the border of 3 climate regions; continental, oceanic and Mediterranean. The Mediterranean climate dominates.

Next to the town you will find "Turkey Oaks", a national park. Here you will find the Mediterranean characteristic. At the same time the town is a former Roman fortified city. In 1938 the remains were found. Now it is a beauitful historic place worth a visit.
