The castle dates back to the 10th century, when it was offered by Emperor Ottone II to the Collalto family. It was partly destroyed and consequently reconstructed due to war and plundering. The current architectural design of the building came courtesy of the age-old Giustinian family, from the Serenissima Republic of Venice. It brims with intriguing historical events, whose protagonists include the Doges Stefano and Marco Antonio, the Blessed Nicolò Monaco and Eufemia, as well as San Lorenzo, the first patriarch of Venice. Nowadays it belongs to a noble family from Trento who reside from time to time in the main wing of this palatial building.
Guests can make use of the small private garden as well as the extensive park with gardens. The estate produces and sells prized wines such as Merlot, Cabernet, Tocai del Piave and Prosecco del Veneto amongst others. Visits to the wine cellar can be arranged upon request. Banquets for special occasions can also be arranged upon request in one of the reception halls, ideal for weddings, birthdays or meetings.

The castle is close to many different interesting artistic sites and tourist hot spots. It is 12 km from Treviso, 16 km from the sea (11 km as the crow flies), 30 km from the centre of Venice and 50 km from Padova.
