For ski fans there are countless ski runs in the vicinity that make for an exhilarating day out. Sarre is within the Gran Paradiso mountain community and boasts a wide variety of ski slopes: cross-country runs in Cogne (15 km away) and downhill skiing in Pila (15 km away). For mountain walkers there are numerous opportunities for snow shoe or traditional excursions on foot, both in the Gran Paradiso Park and other valleys running alongside.
The historical centre of Sarre is well known for its castle, home to 3612 chamois and ibex horns. We also recommend a trip to the beautiful town of Aosta, with its remarkable Franco-Italian culture and roman and medieval remains. The whole of the Valle d'Aosta is peppered with superb castles, witnesses to a particularly rich and intense history. Enjoy your stay!

The Sant'Orso fair is one of the main event of the region. It is held on the 30-31 of January each year. This very old fair of artcrafts is deployed in the streets of Aosta. Art objects made of wood are exhibited, as well are iron works, wollen products etc. During the night of the 30th there are special animations such as dances, songs etc. inside the anciant Roman walls.
