A splendid situated detached holiday house on a park in Heiloo. 5km distance from the beach and along a cycling path. Bicycles are for hire in Aegmond (3km). North Holland offers opportunities to go out; Amsterdam, Alkmaar, Zaanse Schans, Schagen, etc. With beautiful weather the beach is naturally the chosen place!

Tips Owner:
On the outside of the village of Heiloo, in Holland's 'green heart', close to the coast and to Amsterdam:
An individual bungalow, near the seaside, between Heiloo and Egmond. Ideally situated, especially for families with children, in the "Koningsveld"-park.
The garden is very pleasant and well-equipped with seats and a barbecue, in the sun or in the shade. There is an outside pool in Heiloo and a luxurious indoor pool in Egmond aan Zee.
You can rent bikes in the area and take beautiful tours through the dune reservate (free entry-pass to the dunes available), or towards the beach.
Besides cycling, this sympathetic coast with great little resort such as Egmond aan Zee, Castricum and Bergen aan Zee, is great for swimming and sunbathing; then you can sample the local atmosphere during drinks on one of the many café-terraces. Or visit Alkmaar, lively little town with a cheese market on Fridays.
Don't miss the village of Bergen, traditionally the home of many artists (art-markets on Friday and Thursday-evening, annual "light-night" on the first Wednesday in August and Jazz-Festival in September). And also Graft and De Rijp (small artist's colonies along art-circuit in the wonderful Dutch landscape), Zaandam and its famous Zaanse Schans with wooden houses, windmills and cloggs. A bit further down: Purmerend (livestock-market on Tuesdays), Edam (old-Dutch town of famous Edan cheese), and a bit further along Volendam and Marken, pittoresque villages on the IJselmeer-lake next to the more important and beautiful towns Hoorn and Enkhuizen. On the other side you have the seaport and fishermen's town of IJmuiden, the historical cities of Haarlem and Amsterdam, booming with cultural, social and urban curiosities. In brief: spring, summer, winter or fall, it is impossible not to enjoy oneself here. On beautiful days the beach is the place to be. When the weather is off, you can take little trips around the many typical villages and towns in the area.
You are at the heart of everything: Heiloo is only 20 minutes from Schiphol-airport and Haarlem and half an hour from Amsterdam. Tired of driving around? With a well-connected train-station on walking distance, the train is a great alternative, taking you through the lovely features of Dutch countryside. Bring your camera and frame those pretty flower fields, or in wintertime, the magnificent sight of snow and ice-covered polders. And bring your skates, since there is an indoor ice-rink. If you are lucky, temperature really drops in winter and canals and ponds freeze up: every skateable surface will soon fill up with Dutch folk, happy to practice their national sport. Dutch mountains are to be found inside here, with an indoor ski-slope in the area, covered in real snow. There is even a cross-country skiing track in Bergen!
