Description:
The villa and its private swimming pool are situated on the heights of Fundão (550 m above sea level), facing the Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain in Portugal (2,000 m). The part available for hire is on the ground floor (the coolest part in summer); the owner lives upstairs. The very spacious villa is built on a magnificent and extremely peaceful site at the heart of a 10,000 m orchard (itself bordered by other orchards). The setting is remarkable; a panoramic view for 20 to 30 km, overlooking one of the most beautiful valleys in Europe.

The town centre is only 5 minutes walk away. There is a covered market from Monday to Saturday, but the large, typical and popular weekly market is the Monday market. With regard to activities, you will be spoilt for choice; close by, between 5 min. and 45 min, there are: walks, the mountains, ski runs, the Medieval villages of Sortelha or Castelo Novo, golf, river beaches and an adventure park. The park offers a very great number of activities, paragliding, canoeing, walks, horse riding, climbing, shooting, etc. The sea is 1.30 to 2.00 hours away by road. Lisbon is a little more than 2.00 hours away by road. Valladolid airport is 2.30/3.00 hours away in Spain.
In the town, you will find several shopping centres, bars, a discotheque, restaurants, a cinema, museum and all sorts of shops, including several craft boutiques. Whether you are a lover of old buildings, walking or open air sports, the region will surprise you with its wealth of things to see and do and its welcome.
