El Molino de Guaro (280m2) is a 200 year old mill house exquisitely restored in 2001 to a high standard as a home of four bedrooms (of which the bedroom on the second floor has no door) and four bathrooms. With a large pool and numerous patios, it is an ideal base for a family holiday. Situated in a valley at the foot of mountains on the edge of the beautiful 'pueblo blanco' of Guaro, it will also suit those looking for a hiking holiday in rural Spain. Only 3km. away, is the attractive market town of Periana, an unspoilt Andalucian town whose small shops and facilities should meet most needs of holidaymakers, including bars, small supermarkets, butchers, pharmacies and dentists. To the south, the coast can be reached in a bout 25 minutes (passing Lake Viñuela on the way), with Nerja some 15 minutes further East. Granada and the Sierra Nevada are about an hour to the north-east. Being in the country, a holiday based at El Molino will bring an increasingly rare glimpse of traditional Spanish rural life. The goat herd of the neighbouring farm is taken out to pasture past the house daily, the field next door is filled with ancient olive trees, and the night sky is filled with an array of stars we normally miss.
