Deze zeer complete cottage, is vooral gericht op comfort. Vanuit uw huiskamer kijkt u uit over de historische tuinen van het kleine dorp Jedburgh. Als u lekker wilt wandelen, dan loopt u gewoon uw tuin in. Voor fietsen, golfen, vissen en paardrijden is in de omgeving genoeg plaats.
In de buurt van uw cottage (250m) ligt een gemeenschappelijk zwembad waarvan uw gebruik kunt maken. De tennisbaan ligt 250m de andere kant op, maar ook hiervan kunt u gebruik maken.

Jedburgh is een echt oud Schots dorp. Het straalt nog echt het oudheid uit. In Jedburgh staan nog veel oude gebouwen, waaronder de Kerk en de Abdij. De abdij van Jedburgh die in 1118 werd gesticht door Koning David de 1e was een van de vier grote abdijen bij de Schots-Engelse grens.
De abdij staat er op dit moment bij als een ruïne. De prachtige rozentuin leeft nog als nooit tevoren.
Het centrum van Jedburgh bezit vele pubs en restaurant. Als u zin heeft om gewoon zelf te koken, dan is er ook een moderne supermarkt in de buurt.

In de lente en zomer staat heel het dorp in het teken van festivals en activiteiten. Wanneer de scholen het sein van vakantie geven. Begint er een grote rugby competitie.

Jedburgh ligt precies in het midden. In het noorden vindt u Edinburgh (70km), in het oosten Holy Island, zuiden Hadrians Wall en in het westen St Marys Loch.

The Scottish Borders offers an unhurried way of life. There are wonderful countryside quiet roads, history and heritage, castles and country homes. In addition, glorious sandy beaches and an awesome rugged coastline are all within an hour’s drive.
In the town, visitor attractions include a 12th century abbey, Mary Queen of Scots house and a Georgian Reform Jail, as well as way-marked walking and cycling routes - (bicycle hire nearby). There is also an excellent Gateway Visitor Centre where you can find out about what to see and do for day excursions during your stay:
For example, Edinburgh and the Highlands to the north, Hadrian's Wall, Alnwick Castle and Gardens to the south, Holy Island, St Abbs Head and the coast to the east, and St Mary's Loch to the west. Castles and stately homes abound in all directions amid the beautiful rolling countryside.
The cottage is located within a few minutes walk of the conservation town centre of Jedburgh and all its amenities and facilities You can leave the car behind in the on-site car park after a busy day touring and enjoy a choice of restaurants, pubs, (some with local evening entertainment) a fitness centre with 25m swimming pool, tennis and squash courts.

There are regular farmers and continental markets held in the town centre; annual festivals include the Jedburgh Callants Festival at the end of June and the beginning of July; Jedburgh Half marathon in October and rugby at The Riverside.
