Description
The Ancienne Gendarmerie is in a quiet side street, approx. 100 metres from the Atlantic so that you have a marvellous view over the sea and the Ile de Groix from your rooms. Le Pouldu invites you to swim and take long walks on the cliff paths. The surrounding countryside is densely wooded and there are 5 different sandy bays within walking distance. Just follow the roar of the sea to the beach!
Shopping facilities (for bread, vegetables, groceries and foreign newspapers) are approx. 2 minutes walk from the house (only open in the peak season). Outside the season there is a bakery and a grocery shop 1 km away. There are other shops and supermarkets in nearby villages and towns. It is possible to buy freshly caught fish and seafood in the small romantic port of Doelan.
Locally there is a pancake bar, restaurants, a pizzeria and cafés. A very good fish restaurant in the port of Le Pouldu is highly recommended (some catering establishments are only open in the peak season).

Date of stay: November 2024 - December 2024We had a solid stay, though we faced a few hiccups with the heating initially, However, the landlord was quick to resolve it, The location can't be beaten, just steps away from the beach!

Date of stay: July 2010 - August 2010Leuke lokatie. Voor 4 personen wel wat klein. Huisje is goed uitgerust. De zee is op loopafstand (100 meter) maar er zijn prachtige (rustige) stranden bij Guidel (volgend plaatsje 4 km verder).

Date of stay: July 2009We zijn hier een weekje geweest in juli, maar hebben wel geen te best weer gehad. Nochtans mooie omgeving en prachtige kustwandelingen te maken. Het haventje van Doëlan is vlakbij en ook leuk om eens te bezoeken. Van daaruit kan je de oversteek maken naar Ile de Groix. Heel vriendelijke mensen en mede-bewoners, vlot contact met de eigenares. Het huisje is proper en ruim genoeg, maar ruikt wel wat muf. Pedro en Judith Bollaert
