There are numerous hiking and biking trails here to enjoy the mountains, forests, and the valleys. Winters are exciting with cross-country ski trails at 500 m. the ski llift is at 700 m. It is possible to vist many interesting attractions nearby such as Oberhof-Sportstätten, Theme Park Marine Aquarium, the Saalfeld Fairy Grottoes, and the German Toy Museum in Sonneberg. Supermarket and restaurants are at 500 m.



At night, you can make yourself cozy indoors with the central heating in place. There is a warm ambience with the stove in the living room. Es ist eine schöne Unterkunft. Einfach aber sehr sauber und alles was man braucht ist vorhanden. Trotz der eisigen Temperaturen und wirklich viel Schnee hat alles gut funktioniert. Sowohl unsere Kinder als auch der Hund haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten, außer vorher am Telefon, keinen persönlichen Kontakt zu den Vermietern aber das war auch nicht notwendig. Wir haben vorher eine Email mit dem Code für die Schlüsselbox und vielen Informationen bekommen. Da wir Verwandtschaft in der Nähe haben, bin ich mir ganz sicher, dass wir wieder kommen werden.

Het was een prima locatie voor en vakantie. Het enige min puntje is dat de verhuurder niet aanwezig was bij aankomst op zich niet zo erg maar zorg dan voor een goede beschrijving war je op moet letten bijvoorbeeld boiler stond uit en hoe je die dan aan moet zetten.

We waren wat vroeg bij aankomst, maar was geen probleem! Nette woning, geen hypermoderne maar die verwachting wordt ook niet gewekt. Fijne kamers, bij warm weer ook alles goed koel te houden! Vriendelijke eigenaresse en een fles wijn bij aankomst. Enige opmerking is dat het gras in de tuin gemaaid moest worden, maar dat is maar om toch feedback te geven. Wij waren hier met een 9 maanden oude baby.

We hebben heerlijk geslapen in het nieuwe, schone en enorm grote tweepersoons bed. De eigenaar was heel vriendelijk en gastvrij. Bij aankomst stond er een heerlijk assortiment van fruit en verschilllende drankjes klaar! De ruimte was heel groot, verder een beetje gedateerd, maar ook wel charmant. Buitenruimte ook heel fijn met voldoende plekjes en een BBQ en vuurkorf.

Wir haben eine interessante Rennsteigwanderung gemacht, waren auf Goethes Spuren (Kickelhahn) Ostereier suchen, am Bahnhof Rennsteig (urige Bahnhofs-Kneipe!), in Ilmenau, in Ilmenau - da war der Himmel leider grau - aber das Ziegendenkmal ist sehenswert, genauso wie die Oberweißbacher Bergbahn! Für diese Gegend braucht man mehr als 3 Tage Urlaub ... uns hat es trotzdem prima gefallen.

De ligging nodigt uit tot korte uitstapjes in de directe omgeving, of per auto naar grotere plaatsen op een uur rijden. Erfurt en Weimar. Het dorp is rustig en de omgeving is mooi. Fietsen is niet direct aan te bevelen vanwege de hoge ligging.
