On arrival, you will find a bottle of our housewine and an information booklet about the surrounding area to welcome you. The owner organizes guided wine-tasting tours with visit to the cellar and a short walk through the vineyards. On the property , just a few steps from the cellars, you can visit the ancient San Lorenzo Chapel (XIIe Century) built in the Romanesque style. There is a restaurant at 1km from the appartments right on the vineyards. Here you can eat every night and there are often special offers combined with the farmhouse. Nearby: Pieve di San Pancrazio ( beautiful little church in Romanesque style XI e C.), Borgo Luccardo ( small village composed of a group of ancient houses - possibility to make nice walks in the country. Restaurants : Excellent and payable Tuscan kitchen in San Casciano and surrounding area. You will find a list of adresses we recommend in your apartment. Children's activities : adventure park (survival) at 2 km from Castelvecchio. For all information, you can contact the staff of Castelvecchio. Activity on request: exclusive cooking classes with a small vocabulary of Italian cuisine and useful phrases: 'Learn to read an Italian menu and choose which dish you prefer to eat!'

Date of stay: September 2017very warm welcome by our host, we received a very nice bottle of wine (from their own vineyard ofcourse -) ) and a free upgrade to a larger apartment. the location is quiet and peaceful with a very nice view. The apartment is clean, everything you need (kitchen tools,..) is present.

Date of stay: September 2016Het was even zoeken naar het huisje, aangezien de tom tom het niet goed wist, maar toen we er uiteindelijk waren een prima vakantie gehad. Het huisje was prima, gelukkig weinig binnen hoeven zitten. De pergola buiten is heerlijk voor zowel overdag als in de avond. Daarnaast is de ligging van de agriturismo ten opzichte van de mooie Toscaanse steden erg goed te noemen. Florence, Siena en San Gimignano liggen allemaal binnen 45 minuten rijden. Daarnaast is de wijnproeverij (en het kopen van een aantal flesjes) bij Castelvecchio een echte aanrader.

Date of stay: August 2010 - September 2010Castelvecchio is een mooi wijnhuis, mooi op een heuvel gelegen, met er vlak onder, aan de zonnige kant, een gastenhuis met hierin een aantal comfortabele appartementen. De appartementen zijn eenvoudig maar smaakvol ingericht en van de nodige keukengerei voorzien. De locatie is top voor het bezoeken van Florence, maar ook Siena, San gimignano en Volterra zijn goed te berijden. Het meest valt toch op de rust en het groen. Kortom een heerlijke plek. Het zwembad is echter wel iets verder van het huis gelegen, op een 200m de heuvel op. Aardige en nette mensen bij Castelvecchio verwelkomen en zijn beschikbaar als er iets is.

Twee dagen voor ons vertrek kregen we een mailtje (in het nederlands) dat ze ons verwachten met 2 gsm-nummers waar we, indien vroeger of later zouden arriveren hen konden contacteren. De ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk. We konden met al onze vragen terecht in het nederlands, wat toch wel handig was. Het was er prettig vertoeven en zeer rustig.

Date of stay: May 2007Als u houdt van rust in een onvergetelijk mooie omgeving tussen de wijngaarden en olijfbomen, dan is Castelvecchio een aanrader. Het is ook de ideale uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes naar Firenze, Siena en San Gimignano. De ontvangst van de gastvrouw is meer dan hartelijk en zij geeft met plezier tips en trucs voor een geslaagd verblijf. Er is zelfs iemand aanwezig die nederlands spreekt!
