Located in the border of Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna in the interregional pre-park of the Sasso Simone and Simoncello at the height of 650m in a fresh valley where one sleeps well even during the months of July and August. You can access Tuscany and Romagna conveniently and visit famous art cities, Altopoggio awaits all who seek silence, beauty, good food & wine.
A conservatory is accessible for you to plan a lovely time outdoors. You can park under the trees on left coming from the hill. The owner lives next door allowing you to ask for any help/suggestions on what to explore.

Within a range of 20 km there is a nature museum, wildlife museum, maths museum, bread museum, cheese museum, mining museum, fossil museum, art museum, home museum, and church museum, as well as Medieval castles with their high towers from which the views are just fantastic! According to the latest study, (book “Codice P”/Nesci-Borchia) Altopoggio lies in the background of the most famous painting in the world, the Mona Lisa. We organize tours on the very spot on the hills where Leonardo da Vinci was inspired by the beauty of this upper-Marecchia-valley. Maybe you could get the same feeling and paint on the spot your own vision of it! Also other famous Renaissance-era painters (Raffaello, Piero della Francesca..) have immortalized these landscapes in their paintings. You can either visit these places by yourself or with a guide. This is a new concept experiencing art in an open air museum and we can assure you that the view hasn’t changed much in 500 years. This area is rich in its traditions and they’re kept alive with enthusiasm. You can always find a festival going on in one of the nearby villages, whether ancient, gastronomical, antique , religious or historical. If you’re feeling brave, you could try the festival of frogs or visit a Tuscan truffle-feast? We have wide selection of books in the apartment and BBQ is waiting for you on the terrace together with hammoc. Try Yoga or picking the blackberries which are very common in this area.

Date of stay: August 2021Geweldige vakantie gehad bij dit prachtige verblijf! Erg mooi uitzicht en een fijne plek om helemaal tot rust te komen. De gastvrouw Virpi is een zeer behulpzame vrouw en weet de beste plekken om te eten. Wij als jonger stel hebben ons goed vermaakt in de omgeving en bij het huisje. Zeker een aanrader!

Date of stay: May 2017We werden zeer enthousiast ontvangen door Virpi, de eigenaresse die naast de accommodatie woont. We hadden geen boodschappen gedaan en de dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt is een half uur rijden (Novafeltria), maar zelfs daar had ze al rekening mee gehouden alle ingrediënten voor een pasta-maaltijd had ze klaar staan en mochten we zo gebruiken. Wat je ook wilde weten, je kon haar altijd storen en als ze even niet beschikbaar was hing er een briefje met telefoonnummer. Ze spreekt ook uitstekend Engels. Dit adres is echt geweldig als je voor de rust, wandelen en fietsen komt (mountainbikes zijn aanwezig en mogen gratis gebruikt worden). In de directe omgeving is verder weinig tot geen vertier en de wegen zijn slecht, maar dat was voor ons geen probleem. Bij vertrek hadden we het gevoel afscheid van goede vrienden te moeten nemen.

Date of stay: August 2016Hele prettige vakantie gehad we komen hier zeker terug. Schitterende omgeving goede restaurants binnen een kwartier (met de auto) van het huis. Gastvrouw Virpi heeft een zeer uitgebreid schrift klaargelegd, waarin alles wat/waar er te doen is, wordt toegelicht. Hier heb je echt de gelegenheid om tot rust te komen. Voor degenen die moeilijk zonder wifi kunnen vraag even om de wifi repeater te laten plaatsen.

Date of stay: August 2015Wunderbarer Ort um sich zu erholen UND um sich mit dem MTB auszutoben. Die Familie ist sehr Gastfreundlich und wir wurden gut versorgt auch hatten wir viele Infos für die Umgebung bekommen. Alles in allem war dieser Urlaub für uns eine sehr gute Wahl.

Date of stay: July 2014 - August 2014We enjoyed our stay at Alto Poggio very much. The view from the house is amazing. The area is very peaceful and cozy. Our landlady Virpi was very helpfull and arranged lots of attractions for us. Everything about the neighbourhood was explained in a nice booklet ,we got from them. The house is new and very clean. Sitting on the porch in the evening was such a relaxing pleasure. We trully recommend renting the house. Especially if you want to meet real Italians and taste italian food which is authentic. The place was so much nicer than Tuscany in our opinion and people very friendly. It is a place for people who want to run away from crowds and enjoy nature.

Date of stay: July 2014Also unsere Anfahrt war problematisch. Wir haben uns aber auch nur auf die Reiseroute vom ADAC verlassen und haben übersehen das Belvilla ja auch eine Route für uns gehabt hätte. Aber durch die Hilfsbereiten Menschen vor Ort wurden wir sogar bis zu unserer Unterkunft gelotst. Wo wir auch sehnsüchtig und herzlich von unserer Verwalterin erwartet wurden. Der Urlaub selber war für uns genau das richtige da wir durch unsere Berufe sehr angespannt sind und uns am Urlaubsort sehr gut erholen konnten. Das einzige bisschen negative sind die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Grössere Märkte gibt es ungefähr in 20 km Entfernung. Aber das sollte im Urlaub auch kein Problem sein. Für sportliche Menschen stehen Fahrräder bereit. Naturfreunde kommen auch auf Ihre Kosten weil es Natur pur ist. Und für Kulturfreunde gibt es genug zu sehen Museen und so. Nur zum Meer ist es ein bisschen umständlich nach Rimini ca. 50 Km. Zum Guten Schluss können wir den Urlaubsort nur empfehlen Wir sind sehr erholt wider in Deutschland angekommen. Einen Wermutstropfen hat das ganze allerdings die letzten 500 m tat sich unser kleines Auto recht schwer wir fahre einen IQ von Toyota. Aber sonst alles Top und die Verwalterin einsame spitze.

Date of stay: July 2013 - August 2013Het zijn nette appartementen maar de omgeving is te rustig voor jonge stellen zoals wij. Er zijn geen grote supermarkten en wij hebben ook geen normaal zwembad kunnen vinden. Tevens was de weg ernaar toe erg slecht.
