This cozy and charming apartment is located, along with three others, in a large estate with two completely restored houses. The apartment is air-conditioned, tastefully decorated and finished with distinctive details. The estate, of about 40 hectares, houses a lake, surrounded by woods, large enough for fishing, and an example of architecture of the Roman period. Together with the occupants of the other apartments, you will have access to a large swimming pool with children’s pool area, outdoor shower, playground, small playground and a patio with seating. The outdoor garden adjacent to the pool is divided into private areas each with its own sunbeds and umbrellas.
The apartment is located just 3 kilometers from the village of Foiano della Chiana, where you can do your daily shopping, have a good meal and find the train station. Cortona, about 20 kilometers away, is really worth a visit. This city is situated on top of a hill and is one of the oldest cities in Italy - it is truly amazing. For shopaholics, there are outlet shops in Foiano della Chiana, 9 kilometers from the house.
Lake Trasimeno is 25 km away and is worth a visit. In addition, cities like Arezzo (30 km), Siena (50 km) and Perugia (65 km) are highly recommended for a fun day out.

Agriturismo Cisternella is situated in absolute tranquility of the hilly countryside of Tuscany. Its strategic position make easy to reach in a short time some of the most important art cities in the center of Italy (Arezzo, Siena, Perugia, Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano and Florence), the Trasimeno lake (Castiglione del Lago and the Maggiore island little known but very charming) and also the sea of the Tyrrhenian coast is an hour and a half drive. For those who want to shop, we recommend the Outlet Village Valdichiana (with more than eighty shops) in 5 min drive, and at about 40 km the outlets "The mall" and "Space". Every Monday, in the streets of the center of Foiano della Chiana take place the weekly market, where over purchases of all kinds can enjoy typical products of the place. Moreover, in the local museum and in some churches it is possible to admire the sculptures from Della Robbia family realized in the Renaissance period. During your stay at the Agriturismo, the owner are pleased to offer to its guests a selection of products made with ancient grains flour grown and produced by the same farm (products that may be purchased on site).

Het uitzicht vanaf het terras is betoverend, de sfeer is geweldig en de gastheer en gastvrouw doen er alles aan om je verblijf aangenaam te maken. We kregen zelfs taart en wijn van het huis. Het huisje zelf is prima en eenvoudig. Dit is voor ons zeker een adres om naar terug te keren.

Elke maandag/dinsdag heerlijke verse koek of taart gehad en op donderdag verse pizza. Zwembad is schoon en wordt goed onderhouden. Met de corona ook alles goed geregeld. Zouden hier zo weer naar toe gaan. En aanrader!

Date of stay: August 2019Door een vertraging bij de afgifte van de huurauto liepen we behoorlijke vertraging op, maar dat was bij de late aankomst geen enkel probleem voor de eigenaren. We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in deze accommodatie. Het appartement Portico della Volpe was heel netjes en ruim . Het uitzicht van het terras was fantastisch. En we hadden veel privacy. De eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijke en warme mensen en niets was hun teveel. Op dinsdag werden we verwend met een zelfgebakken taart en op donderdag maakten ze voor alle gasten verse pizza met ingrediënten van eigen bodem. De broodservice was ideaal en het zwembad super. Alles werd ook heel goed onderhouden en verzorgd. De accommodatie was ook centraal gelegen om een groot deel van de Toscane en Umbrië te ontdekken. Kortom een mooie vakantie gehad op een heerlijk adresje. Een aanrader!

Date of stay: July 2019Leuke, verzorgde en goed ingerichte vakantiewoning met een heerlijk zwembad. De huisjes staan naast een in bedrijf zijnde boerderij. De eigenaren zijn zeer gastvrij, vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Tijdens ons verblijf kregen we zelfgebakken taart en pizza. Leuke bestemmingen zijn goed aan te rijden. Wel veel vliegen en muggen, maar alles bij elkaar hebben wij er een hele fijne week gehad.

Date of stay: July 2017Ons appartement had een prachtig uitzicht op de glooiende Toscaanse heuvels. Dit is een echte agriturismo, waar de uitbater ook zijn graan- en maïsvelden bewerkt, naast een authentieke boerderij. Elke dag vers brood, en af en toe een taart of pizza die Maria gebakken heeft. De kinderen konden de ezeltjes voeren, het zwembad is helemaal zoals het moet zijn, zij hebben zich goed geamuseerd. Lucignano is vlakbij, een paar minuten met de auto en veel mooier dan Foiano della Chiana. Makkelijk om 's avonds iets te gaan eten.

Date of stay: July 2016We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in dit appartement. Mooi zwembad en heerlijk plekje onder een veranda bij het appartement. Ook ligt het heel centraal in Toscane zodat je gemakkelijk verschillende dorpjes en steden vanuit hier kan gaan bezoeken.

Vanaf hier kun je genoeg stadjes (cortona is zeker de moeite waard) bezoeken en een outlet center in de buurt. In de periode dat wij er waren was het wel extreem warm waardoor we misschien iets minder hebben ondernomen maar ondanks dat was het een heerlijke vakantie en was het ook lekker onthaasten aan het zwembad of op eigen terras met geweldig uitzicht. We zullen zeker overwegen nog een keer terug te gaan.
