Itria Valley (in Italian: Valle d'Itria) is an area located in the Apulia region, in Southern Italy. Itria Valley spreads over Province of Bari, Province of Brindisi and Province of Taranto, and coincide with the lower part of Murgia upland (Low Murgia). The towns of Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Cisternino and Ceglie Messapica overlook Itria Valley. "Valley" is an inaccurate term, because Itria Valley has not the typical conformation of mountain area valleys: it is just a depression due to karstic phenomena. Itria Valley place-name is probably derived from Basilian Fathers oriental cult of the Madonna Odegitria (that is the Virgin Mary who shows the way), patron of wayfarers, which founded - using a natural shelter right in Itria Valley - a monastic site where a fresco portraying the Madonna Odegitria was found. Over the ruins of this medieval place of worship, located in Martina Franca, the Capuchin Monastery (in Italian: Convento dei Cappuccini) - which nowadays is an interesting tourist attraction - was built in 1545. The main Itria Valley features are the following: trulli, the typical ancient Apulian small round houses of stone with a conical roof; a large amount of olives from which they obtain olive oil; vineyards from which they obtain high quality white wine, such as Locorotondo DOC and Martina Franca DOC.

Date of stay: August 2020Aankomst is perfect geregeld. Kort voor aankomst stuur je een bericht naar Francesca waarna zij je komt ophalen bij een meetingpoint in de buurt van de villa. Dat is een extra service. Heel attent. Niet echt noodzakelijk. Met de link en google maps kom je er ook.

Date of stay: July 2019Bij aankomst hadden we veel pech, vermits er een ware zondvloed was met een enorm onweer, de straten stonden onder water en er was ook schade aan het huis. De WIFI, Airco en de pomp voor het warm water waren door een blikseminslag kapot.

Date of stay: July 2019De ontvangst was hartelijk door Francesca en Stefano! De villa is modern ingericht en erg goed onderhouden. De ligging is fantastisch met prachtig uitzicht op de karakteristieke Trulli’s met zelfs een aantal op eigen terrein. De infinity pool maakte het speciaal. De ligging is perfect nabij het mooie Cisterino maar ook Ostuni, Martina Franca en Locorotondo liggen binnen 10km! De mooie stranden liggen op ongeveer 15km.

Date of stay: September 2018Bij aankomst netjes ontvangen, in het centrum want de villa is wat lastig te vinden.verder mooi huis heerlijke rustige plek wij waren met onze baby was wel jammer dat de airco stuk was en is tijdens verblijft niet verholpen ws dus warm. Dat was dus best min punt verder alles keurig ook werd zelfs elke zwembad netjes schoongemaakt en de vuilnis geleegd ? Aanrader voor iedereen die van rust en relaxt houd

Date of stay: July 2017 - August 2017Mooi design vakantiehuis met zalig zwembad in prachtige omgeving. Privacy was even wennen, vermits er 2 liefjes van onze kinderen mee waren en het huis vanbinnen helemaal open is. Het zwembad is puur genieten te midden van trulli-land! Ook de ligging is ideaal om Puglia te verkennen. We werden vriendelijk onthaald door Francesca en Stefano, zij stonden ook steeds klaar om ons op onze wenken te bedienen, indien nodig en Stefano zorgt prima voor het onderhoud van het zwembad en de planten. En de buren verwenden ons geregeld met heerlijke verse vijgen -)! Voor ons was het puur genieten in Villa Puglia! Zeker een aanrader!!

Date of stay: June 2017Perfekte Betreuung, schöne moderne offene und helle Architektur, tolles Welcome Package, strategisch gute und sehr ruhige Lage. Sehr sauber, sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, tolle Betten, schöner Pool, alles sehr gepflegt. Cisternino hat eine tolle Atmosphäre und leckere Restaurants für jeden Geschmack. Toller Blick über das Itria Tal. Ein Lounge Sofa im Freien für laue Sommerabende am Pool würde den Aussenbereich abrunden, ebenso Sitzkissen für die Holzstühle im Aussenbereich.
