Description
The Edam Fishing Cottage is a beautifully renovated holiday home within walking distance of the idyllic town centre. You will find a large living area with an open kitchen, a living room with a dining table and comfortable bedrooms. The house is especially suitable for families.
By bus or car, you can reach the centre of Amsterdam within half an hour, but there is also plenty to do in the Edam area. Hire a bike or a whisper boat around the corner and discover the beautiful surroundings. In Edam, you will find specialised shops and cosy terraces. Volendam, Marken, Hoorn and Alkmaar are also worth a visit. In the holiday home, you will find plenty of inspiration for trips and cycling routes. The freshwater IJsselmeer is within walking distance. Swim and play in the playground. There is also a children's pool for small children.
The house is equipped with books, a chest full of toys, various musical instruments (recorder, ukulele, flute and mini accordion), board games and puzzles. The courtyard is sunny, spacious and equipped with comfortable chairs. Here you can end the day with a good glass of wine. Free parking is available in front of the door, and the spacious shower on the ground floor is easily accessible for the elderly. (E)-bikes can be stored and charged on the enclosed patio. Cars can be parked nearby -and usually in front of the door- free of charge.
Upon arrival, the beds are made. You are kindly requested to respect the quiet atmosphere outside after 23:00.

Our authentic fishermans cottage, is situated in the old restored city centre of Edam. Completely renovated with todays luxurys but all in authentic style.Relax in the lovely seats and dine at your table outside, in the shielded courtyard.Within walking distance you'll find lovely shops and 8 nice restaurants, several bars and (music) cafés.The original Edam cheese market is every Wednesday in July and August. In many languages you'll hear what the market is about and why the people are dressed in their original outfits."Strandbad Edam" is the natural water/swimmingpool. with a grass beach and childrens playground. Only 0.5km from the house."Waterdam" is a public swimmingpool with inside and outside pool. Both nice for children too. And only 0,5 km from the house.Edam is only 20 minutes from Amsterdam and even closer from Volendam, Marken and Hoorn. All easy to travel too by public transport or your car of even by bike!There's so much to discover! In the house there are several books and information about the surroundings.

Date of stay: October 2020We werden hartelijk ontvangen door de eigenaar die ons rondleidde en allerlei lekkers had klaargezet. De bedden waren heerlijk, de inrichting sfeervol, schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Het huisje ligt in een smalle straat midden in oud Edam. Je loopt in een minuut op de gracht. Navigatie is handig, want het stratenplan is ingewikkeld. We hebben Edam, Volendam, Monnickendam, Zaanse Schans en Enkhuizen bezocht. Allemaal per auto snel en makkelijk bereikbaar. De eigenaar heeft veel informatie klaarliggen in het huisje. Echt een aanrader.

Het huisje is met liefde gerestaureerd, erg sfeervol en van alle gemakken voorzien. Ook heerlijk buiten zitten. Edam een leuk stadje, met aantal restaurants, fluisterbootverhuur en natuurlijk de kaasmarkt. Omgeving zeer de moeite waard ook. Van harte aanbevolen!

Erg schoon en echt alles wat je je maar kon bedenken was aanwezig in het huisje. De accommodatie lag letterlijk op loopafstand van het dorp.
