Put on your army uniform, because at holiday home Bunker Richelle, World War II comes to life! You stay in a real bunker and sleep in beds that were used by real soldiers. Hidden behind the 1.30m thick walls you look through the holes where the cannon fired and you search for enemies on the horizon.
The bunker has been restored with great care. Old clothes, weapons and even a Morse code device tell you how things used to be here. Yet you don't miss the comfort. The stairs take you to a completely different world: a world of luxury, opulence and beauty.
The brand new upper floor offers a state-of-the-art living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a fabulous master bedroom and a stylish bathroom with walk-in shower. A big contrast? Yes, but one that will make you admire this unique vacation home even more.
Moreover, there is plenty to do in the area. From the idyllic village of Richelle you can take beautiful walks or cycle tours in this green and wooded area. You are in the heart of the Ardennes. And all this just a stone's throw from the Dutch border. Ideal for those planning a trip to Maastricht.
You can also easily travel to the lively city of Liège, where you can learn more about the rich history of the region and the bunker. During World War II, it was part of the belt of forts around Liege, consisting of a dozen other military bastions, including the famous Fort Eben-Emael. This is now accessible, as is the accompanying museum.

- This building was part of the "Tête du pont d'Argenteau" at the time: a belt of 12 bunkers and forts around Liege. It now serves as a vacation home for those with a keen interest in this turbulent time
- The beautiful, natural environment is ideal for hikers, cyclists and horseback riders. Those interested can learn more about World War II at Fort Eben-Emael and Battice
- A visit to the idyllic Richelle, Dalhem and Blegny or Clermont, located a little further along the Aubel, is also very worthwhile
- You sleep on the same beds as the soldiers of the past and the original interior takes you back to the 40s. Clothes from the past, weapons and even a Morse code machine tell you how things used to be here

Date of stay: February 2024Leuk huis, goede lokatie, vriendelijke mensen. Minpunt is dat je zelf temperatuur niet kunt regelen en het was best heel warm. De tafel was ook niet heel stevig maar verder top. Bunker gedeelte was prachtig, alleen vonden onze jongens het te eng, waarschijnlijk nog net te jong (5&6j)

Date of stay: August 2023Voordat we doorreden naar de Ardennen wilden we ergens een tussenstop maken. Aangezien mijn zoontje van 8 graag soldaatje speelt was hij helemaal in de wolken toen hij hoorde dat we in een echte bunker gingen slapen. Een enorm voordeel van dit huis is dat je 2 gedeeltes hebt. De bunker zelf was erg goed opgeknapt zonder de historische waarde te verliezen (heel knap gedaan). Het andere deel was erg modern en van alle gemakken voorzien. Mijn zoontje (8 jaar) en ik sliepen in de bunker. Mijn vrouw en jongste zoon sliepen in het nieuwe deel. Allebei hadden we onze eigen badkamer. Het waren echt 2 werelden. De eigenaar was ontzettend aardig en behulpzaam. Er werd ook meegedacht met alles zodat we niets tekort kwamen. Kortom, zeker een aanrader!

Only comment was not two much privacy in the below area with the two bedrooms only one has a door. Otherwise a lovely place really clean and very practical a dream home.

Date of stay: April 2021We werden ondergedompeld door de gruwel van de oorlog in deze bunker. Boven waan je u de koning te rijk in het mooie ingerichte appartement met terras op het oosten gericht. Aan alles is gedacht een volledig ingerichte keuken met voldoende keukengerei en keukenmateriaal. In de omgeving veel wandelingen gemaakt. Een perfecte locatie om een weekje te ontspannen.
