Le Tournesol is a spacious holiday home with a lovely terrace, a great location and a breathtaking view. A river that is suitable for canoeing runs along the domain. The accommodation is ideal for holidays with family or friends.
On the east side of Romefort you will find the extensive nature reserve around the Lac de Vassiviere with water sports options. The forests in the immediate vicinity are ideal for hikers and mountain bikers. A recreational lake is a 15-minute drive away and the student city of Limoges, known for its porcelain, is 20 km away. You will find beautiful museums and various dining options. The medieval town of St. Léonard de Noblat is a 5-minute drive away, with cozy pubs and well-stocked supermarkets. The town is home to a beautiful old town center and a famous church with special architecture. It is a popular place for tourists and markets and events are regularly organized.
You start the days relaxing in the comfortably furnished garden, with a cup of tea and an independently prepared breakfast. The residence has a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and for common use there is a trampoline, a fenced swimming pool and a laundry room (for a fee).

Domaine de Romefort is located at a distance of 20 kilometers from the university town of Limoges . Limoges has approximately 150,000 inhabitants and is well known for its porcelain. There are many museums and lots of possibilities for a daytrip or a night on the town. At only 5 minutes from Domaine de Romefort you can find the medieval village of St. Léonard de Noblat . Here you'll find cozy pubs, good restaurants and well-stored supermarkets. The old village centre is beautiful and the famous church has a special architecture. It is a well-known tourist village and often markets and interesting events are organized here. At the east side of Romefort there is a vast nature resort surrounding the Lac de Vassiviere. This lake measures 10 square kilometres and has many beaches and offers plenty of possibilities for water sports. The forests in the vicinity are great for hiking and mountainbiking. It is a 15-minutes-drive from the nice Domaine to Lac de St. Hélène (see picture above). This is a nice recreational lake.The beach of this lake has a lifeguard and is suitable for all kinds of activities. Next to the domaine the river La Vienne flows. In 2000 this river was equipped for canoes. There are slides next to the dams for canoes, so that you can canoe for hours on end. Alongside the river there are many watermills that are still in use. In autumn plenty different types of mushrooms can be found in the woods that lie next to our Domaine. Many of them are edible. We will be glad to help you determine which ones are. The hills are very suitable for biking. You can choose to go by mountain bike through the forests or with a racing bike over the small roads. You can reach us by car, plane or train. There are many budget flights from Great Britain to Limoges and Limoges is also a TGV station. You'll travel from Limoges to the station of St. Léonard de Noblat within half an hour. If you wish, we can pick you up at the train station.

Date of stay: August 2019Rustige ligging. Vooral het zwembad is een troef, vooral voor de kinderen. Veel speelgelegenheid. Ruime kamers en voldoende badkamers. Goed uitgeruste keuken met voldoende materiaal. Ons terras had een prachtig uitzicht op de omgeving.

Date of stay: July 2017Ons huis was heerlijk, groot, schoon en comfortabel. De eigenaren waren zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Helaas zat het weer niet echt mee, waardoor we weinig van het zwembad hebben kunnen genieten. We hebben als alternatief wat uitstapjes gemaakt in de omgeving. Dat was leuk, maar we hebben behoorlijk wat km's gemaakt. Als de zon vaker had geschenen dan hadden we ons verblijf de waardering goed gegeven.

Date of stay: July 2014 - August 2014Accommodatie was prachtig. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Eigenaren gepast betrokken en zeer hulpvaardig. Omgeving groen en heuvelachtig. Dorpje vlakbij echt Frans. Diverse bakkers. Broodjes worden overigens s ochtends door de bakker vers gebracht aan de deur!! Zwembad is prima, kindvriendelijke sluiting. badminton, tafeltennistafel etc etc. De activiteiten die ze aanbieden zijn zeer divers.en alle materialen zijn uitstekend van kwaliteit. Daar is zeker niet op bezuinigd. Van kanoën tot boogschieten. Allen prima begeleid ook. Wij komen hier zeker terug. Een enorme aanrader.

Een ruim huis, met een zeer goed uitgeruste keuken (bier- en wijnglazen ontbraken wel, maar dat was niet erg), precies wat ik zocht. De Nederlandse eigenaars, die ook op het terrein wonen, waren zeer behulpzaam.
