Do you dream of spending your holiday on a French island? L'Île-de-Ré, accessible by bridge, is the place for you. This holiday home located nearby Sainte-Marie-de-Ré is only 300 meters from the beach and the sea. The accommodation is on one level and the windows and green shutters are in the characteristic style of the region. If you have children, you can let them play in the play garden, specially designed for them and accessible by a gate from your terrace. The rental is semi-detached, but thanks to the fence, it offers complete privacy.
The island is a true paradise for cyclists. They can traverse the entire length and breadth of it along bike paths. The beach has a beach with lifeguards just 2 km away by bike. The fortified town of Saint-Martin-de-Ré (8 km) boasts a citadel and a little harbour with fantastic food and restaurants. The oysters are a must!
The historic harbour town of La Rochelle (13 km) is easily accessible by car. Take a tour of the Old Harbour and visit the Tower of Saint Nicolas dating from the 14th century. There you'll also find the largest aquarium in Europe.
Les Baleines (24 km) and its lighthouse are located at the westernmost point of the island. From there you'll have a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. The old naval city of Rochefort (about 50 km) is also worth visiting. There you can admire the ship, the Hermione, a famous reproduction of General Lafayette's frigate. Again by car, you can also visit the Marais Poitevin Regional Natural Park (33 km).

Date of stay: July 2019We werden goed onthaald er stond een fles water en fles wijn in de frigo. Het huisje was dik in orde zoals op de foto's. Je hebt alles wat je nodig hebt. Achter het poortje van terras en tuintje heb je een mooi stuk grond waar de kinderen kunnen spelen en niet weg kunnen afgesloten met een elektrische poort. Je hebt wel de auto nodig voor alles maar de afstanden zijn niet groot. Mooi strand Les Trousses Chemie, lekkere resto Chai Pepette, afhaal pizza in Ste Marie zeker aan te raden. Charmante dorpjes waar je blij van wordt om in rond te slenteren met overal de wilde roosjes en andere. We gaan zeker eens terug.

Date of stay: July 2016 - August 2016We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad en voor kinderen erg leuk spelen in de tuin waar beide huisjes in stonden. Huisje was niet erg ruim maar je leeft ook vooral buiten. Het eiland is erg mooi met prachtige stranden.

Date of stay: May 2016 - June 2016Zoals verwacht. Zeer schoon huis. Alles aanwezig. Wel heel klein badkamertje (deuren gaan naar binnen open) met bad (kan in dit geval beter een douche zijn). Mooie (officiële) fietspaden. Binnenwegen in de dorpen zeer slecht, hobbels en kuilen, geen recht stuk asfalt. Zee (geen strandtoegang) 300 m klopt, maar het mooie strand met toegang is 2 km verderop. Beter tuinmeubilair dan op de foto. Heerlijke barbecue/open haard buiten.

Date of stay: July 2015Voor ons als gezin met 2 jonge kinderen een heerlijk huis. Eigen terras en vervolgens ook nog een binnentuin met speeltoestellen. Dit deel je met een ander huis. Het huis was absoluut van alle gemakken voorzien. Van oestermes tot broodmes, van afwasmachine tot magnetron. Helemaal prima. Loop afstand van het strand (mooi zand en bij eb stenen). Het huis is niet groot, maar wel zeer compleet. Genoten van onze plek en de omgeving. Il de Re heeft echt eilandsfeer.

Date of stay: July 2014Leuk huisje, klein, maar we hadden mooi weer dus vooral buiten gezeten. Prima keuken om maaltijd in te bereiden. Vlakbij strand, loop je zo naar toe. Goede locatie. Voor kinderen niet ideaal als ze op zoek zijn naar vriendjes en vriendinnetjes of je moet het geluk hebben dat het huis naast je toevallig ook door een gezin geboekt wordt. Verder veel privacy.

Date of stay: June 2014 - July 2014Een prima volledig ingericht huisje met besloten tuin. Ligt in bosrijke omgeving met veel vakantiehuisjes. Strand op 300 mtr is bij eb steenachtig. Tussen Le Bois Plage en La Couarde is een groot en breed zandstrand. Ile de Ré is een leuk eiland met veel witte dorpjes met heel veel bloemen. Prima om te fietsen. Goed restaurant in La Couarde. Het weer is vaak beter dan in La Rochelle wat maar 20 km verder ligt. Vergelijking met de Waddeneilanden kwam op.
