On arrival, you will find a bottle of our housewine and an information booklet about the surrounding area to welcome you. The owner organizes guided wine-tasting tours with visit to the cellar and a short walk through the vineyards. On the property , just a few steps from the cellars, you can visit the ancient San Lorenzo Chapel (XIIe Century) built in the Romanesque style. There is a restaurant at 1km from the appartments right on the vineyards. Here you can eat every night and there are often special offers combined with the farmhouse. Nearby: Pieve di San Pancrazio ( beautiful little church in Romanesque style XI e C.), Borgo Luccardo ( small village composed of a group of ancient houses - possibility to make nice walks in the country. Restaurants : Excellent and payable Tuscan kitchen in San Casciano and surrounding area. You will find a list of adresses we recommend in your apartment. Children's activities : adventure park (survival) at 2 km from Castelvecchio. For all information, you can contact the staff of Castelvecchio. Activity on request: exclusive cooking classes with a small vocabulary of Italian cuisine and useful phrases: 'Learn to read an Italian menu and choose which dish you prefer to eat!'

Date of stay: July 2017Gastvrije ontvangst, eigenaresse was zeer behulpzaam met allerlei vragen (waar kun je lekker eten, et cetera). Mooie locatie, appartement was eenvoudig maar compleet uitgerust. Prima uitvalsbasis voor steentrip, maar ook een mooie plek om lekker te relaxen. Een aanrader

Date of stay: August 2015De vakantieappartementen zijn gelegen op een mooie heuvelflank die grenst aan de olijfboomgaard en kijkt uit op de druivenvelden. De mooie pergola's zijn onontbeerlijk in de zomerzon. Aanwezige klassieke BBQ-sets. De buitenverlichting kan beter. Wij zaten elke avond in het donker met een citronellakaars. Het vakantieappartement is schoon, zeer ruim en relatief koel. Koop een Italiaanse adaptorstekker als je je laptop wilt kunnen opladen. Elk raam heeft een insectenhor. Zo'n hor is onontbeerlijk. Want zelfs met insectenhorren houd je de insecten (muggen, spinnen en ander ongedierte) niet buiten. Het meest vervelend zijn de kleine steekmuggen. Denk er dus om, altijd insmeren met deet. Ook mensen die normaal door muggen met rust worden gelaten, worden in deze streek niet gespaard. Nieuwkomers herken je aan de talrijke muggebeten. De streek is erg mooi en deze villa is een uitstekende uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes naar Florence, Sienna, San Giminiano, Greve, enz... De natuur is er prachtig. Het zwembad ligt niet bij de appartementen maar bij wijnkelders. 5 á 10 minuutjes lopen. Wifi is niet aanwezig in de appartementen maar bij het zwembad. Het signaal is vrij zwak. Bezoek wijnkelder en proeverij moet je zeker doen

Date of stay: September 2014Wij hebben echt een supervakantie gehad in Volta. Heel bijzonder om zo afgezonderd te zitten van de beschaafde wereld en te kunnen genieten van de natuur. We hebben zelfs wilde zwijnen gezien! Heerlijke tuin. Ook leuk om op een echte wijnkasteel te zitten en mee te krijgen hoe het daar allemaal werkt (inclusief proeverij, heerlijk!). Tegelijkertijd kun je de drukte opzoeken als je wilt, want Florence, Sienna en veel andere plaatsen zijn goed bereikbaar. Ook San Casciano op 6 km rijden is een leuk dorpje, daar deden we boodschappen en gingen we vaak lekker uit eten. Heel luxe ook het privé zwembad, echt super! En de service ter plekke is ook heel goed.

Date of stay: August 2012Heerlijke vakantie gehad. Uitzicht is echt prachtig. Toen wij er waren was het eigenlijk net iets te heet om actief te doen, maar toch veel moois gezien. Prima plek als uitgangspunt voor dagjes weg. Plek zelf is erg mooi, midden in de wijngaarden. Door de hitte was het echt een must om een zwembad in de buurt te hebben, deze was er gelukkig op het terrein op loopafstand.
