The village of Montecastelli dates back to the 13th century and is located between the Val di Pavone and the Val di Cecina, on top of a hill at an altitude of 504 metres. The characteristic houses, made of local stones, give it a special atmosphere. The streets are two straight lines one above the other on top of the hill. Montecastelli is located 2 km from the river Peacock (Pavone) where it is possible to swim, to take long walks in a beautiful canyon until you reach the confluence with the river Cecina.
The apartment is part of a very large and ancient house, in the center of the medieval village of Montecastelli-Pisano. It has a large kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a living room, a terrace where you can sit and have a beautiful view of the valley.

The village of Montecastelli was built in the 13th century between the Peacock Valley (Val di Pavone) and the Cecina Valley, on the top of a hill 504 mt high. Its characteristic houses made of local stones give it a particular atmosphere. The streets are two ellictic lines one above the other on the top of the hill. Montecastelli nestles in the beautiful Peacock Valley (Val di Pavone), encircled by fine woodlands, hills and meadows. The valley is home to a wide variety of animals, birds, butterflies and rare wild plants: snowdrops, hellebore, anemone, narcissus, cyclamen, wild orchids, primrose, brooms, wild cherry trees and arbutus unedo to name just a few. Montecastelli lies 2km from the Peacock River (Pavone) where it is possible to bath, to swim, to make long walks in a wonderful canyon until you reach the confluence with the Cecina River. In case of health problems an English speaking family doctor is nearby.

Date of stay: October 2022Het huisje ligt in het dorpje Montecastelli Pisano. De ligging is niet zo heel duidelijk want het ligt in een soort nis. Als je het hebt gevonden kom je in een oorspronkelijk appartement. Het is wat klein, de deuren zijn bijvoorbeeld laag en het is er wat donker. Andere dingen maken dit ruimschoots goed. Het prachtige balkon, de gezellige woonkamer, de ruime slaapkamers en de prima bedden. Alle dingen die je nodig hebt waren er: vaatwassertje, wasmachine, magnetron. De oven werkte alleen niet. Je kunt in het dorp leuke wandelingetjes maken en als je goed zoekt zijn er ook grotere wandelingen te maken in de omgeving. Al met al een aanrader om te verblijven. Ook het contact met de eigenaar of zijn zus verloopt prettig.

Date of stay: September 2022Prima locatie en vrijwel alle voorzieningen aanwezig. Het enige wat beter zou kunnen is de aanwezigheid van gebruikshandleidingen voor de aperatuur.

Date of stay: October 2021Fijn oud Toscaans huis met een fantastisch uitzicht over het Toscaanse platteland. Echt weg van de bewoonde wereld, met de dichtsbijzijnde supermarkt op 20 minuten rijden en 'grotere' steden op 45 minuten. WiFi na verplaatsen van modem oké, communicatie met verhuurder goed en voorzieningen prima. Een fijne plek om tot rust te komen of te werken in alle rust! Zeker in de lente of nazomer.

Date of stay: July 2017Aankomst was goed. Eigenaresse vriendelijk en goed verstaanbaar. Communiccatie in het duits of Engels. Accommodatie is niets om aan te merken. Alles is aanwezig, schoon , goed onderhouden. kritisch punt, er is slaapplek voor 5 personen maar het balkon is daar niet geschikt voor. Dat word een beetje krap. Het uitzicht vanuit het balkon is een plaatje. Wifi is niet om naar huis te schrijven. Wifi signaal is met behulp van. Sateliet/schotel. ( ga het niet verglijken met Nederland.wat dat betreft zijn we een beetje verwend?) 2weken genoten van dit uitzicht en het verveelde niet. Al met al 2 weken met plezier genoten van dit appartement.

Date of stay: September 2016Gezellig huis met mooi balkon. Huis was schoon en alles was voldoende aanwezig. Het dorpje was wel gerestaureerd, maar toch nog authentiek met mooie Italiaanse bewoners.

Date of stay: June 2016Appartement is absoluut niet voor 6 personen geschikt. Er is maar 1 klein toilet en maakt erg veel lawaai. Daarbij troffen we een slecht onderhouden en vuil appartement aan. Het tuinmeubilair was totaal versleten, paar keer door de tuinstoel gezakt waardoor 10 dagen op een keukenstoeltje op het balkon gezeten!! Slecht Wifi.

Date of stay: May 2015 - June 2015Vakantie was heerlijk. Montecastelli Pisano is vooral aan te bevelen voor natuurliefhebbers, rustzoekers en sportievelingen. Voor cultuur (Siena, Florence) moet je een aardig stuk rijden, Florence zelfs 88 kilometer over goede wegen, waarvan de eerste helft over heuvels (haarpinnen), dus je schiet niet op.

Date of stay: July 2013het huis is zeer sfeervol maar ook comfortabel. Alles is aanwezig om er lekker te kunnen ontspannen. Het balkon is een fijne plek met mooi uitzicht. Het dorpje is erg rustig en heel sfeervol.
