Located about 20 minutes from Florence and Lucca, Pistoia itself also has much to offer in terms of history, art, monuments, traditions and culinary specialties. Among the picturesque streets of the old town there are many good quality restaurants offering genuine traditional Tuscan dishes, as well as local wines, with a far more honest prices than most other tourist destinations. Very interestingg is the big market that takes place on the monumental Cathedral Square and the surrounding streets two times a week (Wednesday and Saturday mornings).
