Located about 20 minutes from Florence and Lucca, Pistoia itself also has much to offer in terms of history, art, monuments, traditions and culinary specialties. Among the picturesque streets of the old town there are many good quality restaurants offering genuine traditional Tuscan dishes, as well as local wines, with a far more honest prices than most other tourist destinations. Very interesting is the big market that takes place on the monumental Cathedral Square and the surrounding streets two times a week (Wednesday and Saturday mornings). Of great interest are also the zoo and surrounding area, Montecatini with its thermal baths, the medieval villages of the Valdinievole, including Collodi, the town of Pinocchio and with the Leonardo Vinci museum. The villa is located only 30 minutes drive from the ski resort of Abetone. With its 80 km of trails the Apennines Pistoiese are a destination of national importance for winter sports. From December to April this is another good reason to visit our area, where you can practice all kinds of winter sports such as cross country skiing, downhill, snowboarding and sledding.

Date of stay: July 2018 - August 2018Arrival was perfect. Time agreed by telephone and on time. The owner was coming with the Belgian Flag to guide us to the villa. we got a complete information session about the villa, accommodation and surrounding whenever there was a question the owners came to help or assist they gave us all informations needed all bedrooms are equipped with bathroom and lavatory. nice swimming pool and BBQ area Jacuzzi. really friendly people in the small butcher shop in the center of the city Pontipetri the food you could buy there was 'top quality' possibility for take away as well The fact we were at 700 mt sea level gave us much better temperature - the difference with the center of the city Pistoia was between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius. This helped a lot to overcome the really hot temperatures at the time we were in Tuscany. (average of 35° during our stay) Good possibilities for biking (climbing cols with race bike for those who had the capacity and courage). so only one final note - 'top location' with top people
