The many events that take place in the city make it the ideal half anytime of the year. Just to name a few, let's remember: the comic book "Lucca Comics and Games" at the end of October, concerts of classical and religious music from April to June, opera performances in October and November, "Settembre Lucchese" with the fair and numerous side events, the Summer Festival in July and August, the many open-air markets and much more. The city of Lucca is a must-see destination for those visiting Tuscany and loving the art cities. The ancient walls completely intact and the beautiful Roman amphitheater make it unique in its kind. Walking through the small streets of the old town you will feel like going back in time and you will discover breathtaking and rich history. Those who love music will be happy to visit the house of the famous composer Giacomo Puccini born in Lucca in 1858 and to be able to attend the numerous concerts inspired by his music that take place in the historic center. There are also initiatives for young people, such as the Summer Festival in July or Comics, the comic book market show that takes place every year in November. It is worth remembering that also the surroundings of Lucca offer many excursion possibilities: Pisa and Florence are easily reachable by public transport, Viareggio and all the Versilia coast are just 30 km from the historic center.
